A practice built around you, not a template

Statera is a Hamilton-based team of therapists, social workers, and wellness practitioners. We work with individuals, couples, and families. We make sure the care actually fits the person in front of us.

An inclusive space for everyone

We welcome people of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. You don't need to explain yourself here. Just show up.

Cost should never stop you from getting help

Sliding scale fees are available. If cost is a concern, reach out. We'll find something that works for your situation.

First Nations and Inuit Health

Our therapists are registered providers under Health Canada programs that cover mental health counselling for First Nations individuals at no cost to you.

We are registered under the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program, the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, and provide support for those affected by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) crisis. How we approach therapy

We start by understanding your story.

Therapy at Statera begins with listening. We take time to understand who you are, what matters to you, and what's actually going on beneath the surface. We don't rush into solutions. We get to know you first.

We build a plan together.

Once we understand your situation, we work with you to create a direction that makes sense for your life and your pace. There's no one-size-fits-all approach here. Your plan is shaped by your goals, your values, and what you're ready for.

We focus on what's practical and real.

We work on tools and insights you can actually use in your daily life. Not abstract theory. Not endless processing. Real skills, real patterns, real change. You leave each session with a new way of thinking, a tool to try, or clarity about what comes next.

We stay with you through the hard parts.

Change takes time. There are breakthroughs and setbacks. We provide steady support through all of it, not just the moments that feel like progress. You're not alone in this.

The values behind our care

Transparency

We tell you what to expect, how long it might take, and when something isn't working.

Vulnerability

We ask you to be honest with us. We'll be honest with you too.

Growth

Progress isn't always linear. We stay with you through the slow parts.

Collaboration

You know your life better than we do. We build the plan together.

Curiosity

We don't assume we know what's going on. We ask until we actually understand.

CEO, Registered Psychotherapist, M.A.C.P. Brain Disorders Management (Spanish Speaker)

Works with individuals, couples, families, and youth, specializing in neurodiversity, pregnancy support, and family dynamics.

Being born in Colombia and raised in the United States has given me a unique perspective in therapy. My experience learning new languages and adapting to different cultures has taught me to approach people with compassion and understanding, because you never truly know what someone else may be going through.

I am the CEO of Statera Therapy & Wellness and a Registered Psychotherapist in the province of Ontario.

I graduated from Yorkville University with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and completed a post-graduate certificate in Brain Disorders Management from Mohawk College. I also earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brock University.

Throughout my studies and professional work, I have focused on child and youth development, as well as family and couples dynamics. I also have a strong interest in supporting mothers through pregnancy and postpartum, which was influenced by my own journey into motherhood and the perspective it gave me into the emotional needs of parents.

I have also developed a passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals by helping them build tools and practical skills that allow them to navigate life with greater confidence.

My therapy style is collaborative. I believe the client is the expert in the room, and my role is to guide and support you through the obstacles you may be facing. Together we create a treatment plan that fits your needs by identifying goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
