Meet The Team

  • Angela Saavedra

CEO, Registered Psychotherapist, M.A.C.P. Brain Disorders Management

Hi, as most of you know I am Angela Saavedra!

I am the CEO of Statera Therapy & Wellness. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in the province of Ontario. Being born in Colombia and raised in the USA I bring a unique perspective to therapy with my experience in learning new languages and culture. This experience taught me to be compassionate and understanding towards others because you never know what someone else might be going through.

I graduated from Yorkville University with a Masters of Art in Counselling Psychology and have a Post-Grad in Brain Disorder Managements from Mohawk College. My passion for Psychology started from a young age and pursued my career at Brock University with an undergrad in Psychology. A lot of my focus on my studies have been on child and youth development, families and couples dynamics. I have also focused on prenatal and postnatal care for moms, due to my own motherhood journey that gave me a different perspective into the needs of moms. I have also developed an interest in helping neurodivergent individuals to find different tools and developing different skills that will help them navigate their life.

My type of therapy style is to work one on one with the client in a collaborative manner, where the client is the expert in the room and I am here to guide them through their own journey or obstacles in life. Together we will develop a treatment plan that works best for the client, by determining goals and ways to achieve them.

  • David Wilson

Partner, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Rev, BTH., BAP.

David is an Ordained Minister, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, and is concluding the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. David has a degree in theology and has periodically participated in Christian ministry over the past twenty years in multiple facets. In 2016 He returned to school and obtained a Degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph.

Socrates famously said, “the unexamined life is not worth living.” The examined life provides meaning to life, understanding oneself to understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to examine client’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and how they influence their anxiety, depression, relationships, core values, and underlying assumptions. I offer diverse life experiences that provide unique insights into client’s issues. Together we can work towards your ideal life.
